You know those little EPA gas mileage stickers that are stuck on the windows of new cars? The ones that are ridiculously inaccurate because they show V8 trucks getting something like 24 mpg?!!
In 2005, Consumer Reports did real world mpg tests (as opposed to the EPA’s lame lab tests) and discovered that over 90% of the mpg the EPA said the cars should get was totally wrong!
Gee, what a surprise?
The EPA has finally established what is supposed to be a more accurate “real world” MPG rating starting for 2008 cars and you will be seeing it on new car lots this September.
Thats probably going to piss off new car dealers since it will show the cars as getting much lower gas mileage.
