Manheim Says Car Auction Sales Up
After two years of decline, the number of vehicles wholesaled at U.S. auto auctions increased 1.8% to 9.57 million in 2006. Also, the average wholesale prices were up 1.6% too.
Manheim also said the net profit for used vehicles (for large car dealership lots) was an average of $230.00 per car and the average net profit for new vehicles was a negative $14.00. YIKES!!
So as you can see, it is the USED car market that keeps these high overhead lots in business.
Can you see now why I say that YOU (you curbstoner you!), with your little almost zero overhead business, could make an average of $300.00 to $3000.00 profit per car?
