9 Year Old Starts Used Car Business

Gaston Rossato of The Barn Miami

Gaston Rossato bought and sold his first car when he was only 9 years old. His dad, Lucas Rossato had been in the car business for a long time so this seemed perfectly normal to Gaston.

What got him going was his desire to get the bicycle of his dreams. So instead of giving his son the money to buy a bike, his dad, being the good dad that he is, loaned his son $100.00 to buy and sell a 1981 Toyota Corolla.

Gaston bought his dream bike with the $250.00 profit he made from selling the Corolla.

During his teens Gaston learned the business from his dad while working at his dads dealership on the weekends. After graduating from high school he worked full-time for his dad while he attended college until his dad sold the business in 2008.

Gaston worked odd jobs until he got a job as an insurance claims adjuster. Not satisfied with having a job, but needing one in order to survive, he sold his coveted 2008 Dodge SRT-10 to use as seed money to buy cars that he could sell for a profit.

Gaston pyramided the profits he made from selling cars, and with the help of his wife and father, officially opened The Barn Miami for business in 2013.

Prices for cars at The Barn Miami range from a low of $12,000.00 to as much as $300,000.00 and include beauties like a 1967 Ford Mustang, 1992 911 Porsche Turbo, and a 2015 Ferrari 458. Gaston said his all-time favorite car was the Ferrari Testarossa from the Miami Vice TV show.

Apparently Gastons father is not just his father, he’s also his best friend. And this is why I thought this story was especially inspiring…

His dad taught his son a valuable life lesson at 9 when he loaned him the $100.00 to buy and sell a car his first car and later the son brought dad into the business.

Gaston says that the Barn Miami prides themselves on not just finding any car, but on finding “the car” that will greatly add to the collection of any car collector or to someones dream.

If you aren’t interested in selling high-end cars like Gaston and Lucas Rossato are doing, that’s fine, because here’s how Ryan Rose is making a bundle selling basic transportation vehicles to the rest of us.
